The NVRS series of night vision riflescopes continue to garner rave reviews from top shooters around the world. Built on a military-grade titanium body, the NVRS provides an exceptionally strong, lightweight foundation for its high-res image illuminator tube and precision coated optics. The NVRS 2.5x50 provides comfortable viewing with a 15 degree field of view. The unit?s 50mm objective lens is one of the largest objective lens in use and provides outstanding light-gathering capabilities. The NVRS 2.5x50?s multicoated optics provide a high degree of light transmission, which is enhanced by Yukon?s Quality Certified Gen 1 tubes. Gen 1 intensifier tubes work by using a photocathode to transform the gathered light into electrons, which then pass through the image tube and bombard a Phosphor screen to produce the green illumination of an image. All image intensifier tubes are extremely light sensitive and can be destroyed by bright lights; however the NVRS remedies this problem by including a hinged lens cap cover with a pinhole in it. The pinhole allows the NVRS user to sight in the unit during the day, without burning up the image tube. It can then be fine tuned at night. The Gen 1 image tube works well with moonlight and starlight, but Yukon?s exclusive built-in PULSE Infrared (IR) Illuminator with a range of 100 m extends the NVRS? viewing range. The PULSE system utilizes quick infrared energy bursts that pierce the darkness further to increase distance, visibility and image quality. The PULSE IR System provides the highest level of infrared illumination without significant battery drainage. The same ?pulsing? frequency that is invisible to human eyes infiltrates longer distances due to the Infrared Illuminator?s quick energy bursts. Not only does this scope's wide field of view (15 degrees) make short work of target acquisition, once acquired its illuminated red-on-green luminous reticle assures that you'll stay locked on. Internal windage and elevation adjustment controls are conveniently placed beside the eyepiece and provide shot group adjustment of ¼ MOA (Minute of Angle) for exceptionally accurate zeroing.
